I have a box full of records I got for free. some trance stuff some 70's/80's albums. I want to buy a turntable so I can finally enjoy them. What kind is good...Numark perhaps? also, I guess I'd need to buy a mixer and speakers to use the record player? I don't want to pay too much but I also only want to make this purchase once so it has to be good quality. thanks!

I would say 2001 for Barry Bonds. He hit 73 homeruns (a new record for a season), he had a 515 on base percentage and broke the all time slugging percentage record ever. Another one would be Barry Bonds 2004 season. He broke the all time intentional walks record with 120 and had 232 total walks. He had a 362 batting average and a 609 on base percentage. 609 OBP!!! He also hit 45 homeruns that season.
What hitting seasons could be more dominate?

I need some type of portable recorder to record me singing during voice lessons/class. I've looked into various digital voice recorders and minidisc players, but the ones I've found are not good for recording singing, or need an additional mic, or not compatible with Vista.

What's a good recorder I can use for singing class? I need something portable that fits in my pocket (obviously, I can't be lugging around microphones, cables, laptops, and various attachments to class).

I want to be able to upload it onto my pc too (I'm using Windows Vista).

I'm looking for something under 0, if possible.

Im using REAL player to try and record a 50 second clip (not the whole movie) when i try to record that part from the dvd it says owner does not allow recording...
what can i do to record that 50 second part of the movie(dvd)?
I have the Dvd movie already burned on a blank dvd(i copied it) and it STILL wont let me record

This might sound odd, but I thought I'd ask for some advice because I really have no idea where to start. This is the story so far, which I'm hoping you can help with...

For as long as I can remember I've had this same dream. The dream to open up a shop that offers everything I love and hold dear to the world outside.

I want to open a bookshop, which is also a cute little cafe/bakery. And probably sells music and jewellery every once in a while. And has live music on occasion. And has days where kids come in and get read to. And is filled with vintage second hand shelves and furniture, with fairy lights and mismatched chairs and crockery, with old 50s classics crackling on a record player very quietly in a corner. Where there's a little cabinet behind the counter full of one of a kind first editions. Where the smell of fresh baking and book paper hits you as you walk through the door (the kind of door with a bell attached)

I want to be the owner of somewhere really personal, really special. A place that highlights the faceless production line styles of certain well known bookshops and certain well known coffee houses. A place where you know the name of all the staff, and can dream away hour upon hour, lost in the worlds of the great minds of our past, sitting on a comfy old sofa with a hot chocolate.

So this is my vision. As you might gather, I have a slightly overactive imagination. My problem is, I have no mind for business at all, I have no thousands of pounds of savings, I don't know the first thing about opening a shop, I don't know the legal implications, I basically don't know anything to do with business in any way shape or form. These are all things I am willing to find out. But I feel like there's so much I don't know that I don't know where to start, and I ws hoping someone could point me in the right direction...

still turns on

I don't have a record player so I can't test them. They are not in sleeves, I used to keep them in a little 45 box where you took off the sleeves. Who would have known?
They are not in perfect shape to sell on ebay.
Thanks.

I'm trying to record sound clips from movies.

I'm using my laptop and a ps3 and running the audio cables from the audio out on the tv into the mic input on my laptop using .25inch and .8inch adapter.

And i'm using windows sound recorder to record it.

But it's not working. I've done it before, a few years ago, but not sure what i'm doing different.

Should I run it through the output on a dvd player maybe?

Also using windows vista what recording settings should I have on? The input devices or the mic's or what?

Shouldn't people in business be polite and attentive? I found some items in my parents estate that I thought a local sports memorabilia and ephemera dealer, who advertises on the local radio, would be interested in. Old post cards and some baseball player caricatures. He told me nothing was of any real value and added that even if the caricatures were artist originals and framed he wouldn't buy them. I thought old postcards were very collectible right now. I have about 100 and am asking for the - that's only 10 cents apiece! The ones in his store he's asking anywhere fro to . On his ads he says he buys anything old. What is his game?

I've really wanted to start DJ'ing in turntablism after being inspired by one of my idols in music, DJ Shadow, but I have no equipment, no experience and no know how. Whats the best (and cheapest) starting pieces of equipment I should use, and how can I learn quick and easily?

My daughter is always scratching her dvd movies and I was wondering if there is some thing like a chip of some kind that I could record the movies in and put the chip into the portable dvd and play the movies there. That way my daughter won't be able to scratch the movies.Thanx, any answers will be appreciated.

The last time I used it, it worked perfectly, and now It's a little bit off. What should I do?
its a yorx turntable.

I like the looks of it. I am not sure if I can get a better sounding stereo system for the money. I am thinking of taking it to a few nursing homes and assisted living facilities to play music for retired people. I have some old records of Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, old Jazz records, and I was going to take it to play for the older folks.
I like the old fashioned look to this system and the wood looks fantastic.
This looks like Crosley's top of the line stereo system. It includes a turntable, AM/FM radio, CD player and recorder.
I am also considering getting a DJ turntable, amplifier and speakers. JBL speakers if I can afford it. This little unit has everything included in one box. I would be playing it to a small group of people.
Does it have an external so I can re-route the sound into a larger system to amplify?
I might just use it with the smaller groups to listen to music.
I am thinking more in terms of playing oldies on this system. No Lady Gaga. I played Lady Gaga for my mother and she winced.

I have a regular turn-table player but when i go to play a 33, when its on the 33 setting, it plays too fast. But, when i put it on the 45 setting, it plays too slow. There is no setting in the middle. Is there something wrong with the needle or do I need the whole thing looked at?

Thanks

So this summer I cleaned out my basement and came across this old, antique radio cabinet that I think was my great-great grandmothers. It stands up but it has no back, and there isn't anything inside of it. I don't want to throw it out and I have a feeling since half of it is missing it wouldn't be of much value to sell. So I was wondering if any of you guys have ideas of how I can restore it in a fun way so that it looks more modern and not so antique-ish? It may sound strange a bit confusing, so I'm sorry for that...but I would just hate to throw it out! Give me your ideas...no matter what they are!! =)
Haha thats funny you mention the tank, because I actually had one that I thought of putting in there but its to big...and im not to sure how stable it is either! I'll have to check it out!

I think that for a player to genuinely (anything "official" doesn't necessarily means it's real or true) have the single-season home run record he must hit 61 home runs in 154 games or less because imagine if Ruth had played for the eight extra games (162 games) he could've had more than 60 and Roger Maris would not have been able to pass the Babe.

As for McGwire and Sosa, those guys were phony and I'm sure that without the help of steroids they would not have hit as many home run as they did.

What cartridges can be used as replacement for the Thorens TD-145? I am looking for something with decent sound, and is not too expensive.

This is more like something you would see out of a Science Fiction movie, but what If one day there was a device that could record your dreams while you were sleeping, would you use it? Fore say this device could record your brain activity, like how a DVD players laser reads the disc and decodes it then so you can view it on the TV. Like if this device worked somewhat the same way as a DVD player would, it scans your thoughts and records it then so the next day when you wake up you could view it. I'm only looking for opinions.

How can I get the best sound out of my Stanton T.50 turntable? I don't use it for anything but playing records but I read that records can sound better than mp3's. Also, the volume is really low even with my surround system turned all the way up, how can I boost that and why is it so low?

I am taking an old antique radio and putting a new sound system in it. Its about 3 ft tall.. 10' deep... I want to put the speakers out of the front but i have a 10' sub i would like to put in it.. should i put it below the two speakers facing the same way or put it facing the ground.. or facing the rear.... let me know... this might sound stupid but its just a project im trying because i have extra stuff that i wont use and have lots of time on my hands.. get back to me... thanks

can i record from my DVR to that device cause i wanna buy it and its a 1 day sale and it would be the coolest thing to record things from tv and transfer it to there.. PLEASEEEEEEE i need help to see if thats possible .. here is the website www.woot.com

I do not know exactly what type of stick Al Iafrate used back then. It has 16 years ago, so some players were using aluminum shafts with wooden blades. I believe he was still using all wood.

How much faster would his shot have been if he had been using a composite stick back when he originally set this record?
