I get the message PROTECTED on the front of my recorder. I can understand this if it's a movie but why can't I record my soaps? What use is this thing? I paid 9.00 for this thing on sale and I am NOT happy.
not necessarily leading off a game with a home run, but hitting the most home runs in a single season from the 1 spot in the batting order. i venture to guess alfonso soriono who had either 40 or 41 home runs in 2006 . up until this season he started nearly every game of his career in the leadoff spot so i assume at least 35 of those home runs that year came with him batting 1 in the order as he occasionally batted 3-5 over his career .
Hello! in about a month its gonna be my boyfriends birthday, and i've bought him a couple of records since hes starting to collect them. And now that i think about it, I should get him a record player to go along with it! can someone tell me the differences between a turntable and just a record player? Also where i can find one about 50 or up to 100 dollars? Im looking on eBay but everything is so confusing and I dont want to buy him something that doesn't work... vintage is fine... I dont want anything new or shiny.
Thanks for your help
I cant even play cassette anymore...
and it seems that each technology is actually WORSE!!!
examples:
I have 250 CD's. 200 plus have scratches and dont play right..you have to get up and do something about it.
I have 1,000 Vinyl 45 records dating from the 20's to 2007. about 2 of them are not playable. maybe 10 have scratches but continue to play without you getting up and doin something.
ALL OF MY CASSETTES WORK. ALL. A friend of mine brought her 8 tracks and player over...all worked fine.
And at the end of the cassette era they had just put out some players where you could seek, find and go to whatever song you wanted on either side of the cassette in almost the same time that a CD could....sigh..
DVD's?? HAHAHAHAHAH....most players have proeblems..and the disks are easily scratched.
Beta was awesome then VHS came out....never had a problem with any VHS player OR tape...
My records sound better to me and my freinds than CD's......
I do admit the picture quality of a DVD is better....
My question is:
Are we getting screwed?
ok the IPOD does rock...lol...love that lil thing...thanks Tab..
I'm looking for an old style of a record player. Like the ones the have the big flare-out speaker on top? You usually see them in movies and stuff. I don't know how else to explain it.
I have some records on vinyl that I wanted to play but I like the old style looks of those. I have no clue how much they would cost, or even how to use it. I hope you know what I'm talking about.
I have an old RCA radio. The radio is from 1927 and is pretty big. It is made of wood and has two cabinet doors in front that open up to the radio itself. It also has a record player on top. The whole thing is in mint condition and looks like i just bought it. I have done no work to it at all and everything works. I am just wondering how much the radio is worth so any information on it will be great thanks.
Do blue ray players have to use blue ray recording discs to record shows ? Did they even invent blue ray recording discs already ?
I have a Panasonic AV control receiver (SA-XR30) connected to a Stanton direct drive turntable (STR8-30). Unfortunately, the audio receiver does not have a phono input so I've used a solid state stereo phono pre-amplifier made by L.K.G. Industries before connecting the turntable to the receiver.
My receiver is connected to two stereo speakers which are located on either side (this whole set-up is used solely to play records). Now whenever I turn on the system and play a record, there is a continuous buzzing in the background which I'm guessing is feedback of some sort. Does anyone know what's ruining the audio quality and what I can do to fix it? Thanks!

I have been looking for a certain record for quite some time. I just found it at a thrift store and couldn't wait to get it home. When I tried to play the record it wouldn't work on the player I have. The player that I have only plays 45s and 33s. Is there something I can buy to attach to the player to let it play 78s ? Other than buying a new record player
When I changed my stereo form CD to Phono to use my record player a loud D-------- noise came up. I tired playing a record but it's very quiet as this noise is so loud over it, I then tried turning it up but this noise gets louder with it.
This happened many years ago so I stopped using my record player. Then I tired again a few months ago it was 'fixed' somehow, now it's back,
Is it repairable?
Thanks
I'm trying to find out a bit more about the value of a piece that recently came to us. Its a stand alone, wood cabinet/table-type player that can play records, and 8-tracks, and i think has a radio. Any ideas?
The radio says sylvania. The record player say Garrard with a lion logo with a box around '2025T'.
Summary:
Two roommates, one we'll call R and another E. E is my boyfriend's sister and has turned out to be a complete brat. We moved in Sept. 15th and have a one year lease. At this point E has consistently disrespected our belongings and the lease agreement to an extent. She gave her boyfriend of one month, as well as mine/her brother when R and I told her several times we were not comfortable with that. No reason to either since our landlord is on the other side of this twin house and works out of it his home. He comes home with her at 5 and leaves at 8am when they go to work. There were several times inwhich I caught him in our home without anyone there. The first was when I came home from church. I know I locked the door and I came home to find him in the bathroom with his laptop already set up and tv on. He said the door was unlocked, that he just got there, and that E had told him she would be there in a ten-fifteen minutes. That did not match up with the scenario. Not to mention E did not come home for another ten min. Besides, why would he try to get into the house when there are no cars in the driveway, aka no one home. There were other times when I was downstairs and he came to the door and stopped going for the door knob when he saw me. E did not come home for 45 min-an hour. Again he said "E told him she would be home soon." Similar situations have also occurred. He has been at our house even more frequently since E was supposedly "allowed to work from home" though she is never working on her work laptop. Since her 90 probation period (graphic designer with a desk job from 8-5) ended around the same time as this began we are assuming she is currently unemployed and her boyfriend is supplying money for rent. Her dog has also become an issue. The only pet allowed on the lease is R's cat, though there was a verbal agreement that the dog was allowed to be there on the weekends with R's permission. The dog is there everyday. The animal poops/pees everywhere and prevents R from letting her cat out due to the dog's tendency to pee/poop in R's room (which she has to leave open so the cat has access to the litter box.) In the second month E 'assigned' chores. When I refused to do mine (trash), considering I'm an adult who cleans up after herself, she went into my room and put the trash and recyclables next to my bed. Another problem we have encountered is her constant moving/stealing/hiding our personal property. In the beginning she hid my brand new chess set saying it was 'in her way' and she would not return it because i would put it back on the side table. Please note all the furniture in the house is R's. I finally found it after digging through one of the closets. In the past month she has also stolen, and damaged my record player. She first moved it into the closet, without my permission, because she wanted to use that space as bench style seating (it was on top of R's hope chest and a blanket which she allowed me to do.) When I returned home that night it was not there and neither was the key to the shed. I had to go to my landlord and ask him to open the shed where I found not only my record player but a box of dvds. Her excuse was that "her friend had beer on it and didn't want it to get ruined" I, again, returned the record player to the its original spot. The next night I came home to find it gone. When I looked in the closet I found that it literally had been tossed in there. It was slanted and falling off of two vacuums. My box of dvds had also been tossed in there and they had spilled everywhere. That night our landlord go involved. She told him the record player was a hazard because "it was a tripping hazard, and, should her dog jump up there, could easily slide off". Eventually, I decided to move it upstairs due to her constant threats of 'future action'. It was then that I realized it was broken. The phono button had broke off causing the connection to the speakers to fail. R's father was able to fix it (he's an electrical engineer) but the fact remains. Recently she has taken to petty things, that aren't of legal value but demonstrate the living conditions: she constantly curses me out, says completely disrespectful things about myself, my boyfriend, my job and my family. She invites people over only to gossip for hours (3 hrs. today) about me. Her verbal abuse has caused my pre-existing depression to worsen to the point of relapse. Please note my room does not have a door, only a spiral staircase leading up to it so I cannot even escape to my room. Sometimes she even screams up it at me. She fails to do any chores and has left it to the point that two weeks had gone by and we were practically out of everything.
Now today, our landlord promised us he would evict her under the condition we cover her rent. We agreed. He brought her in and told her. In the end we discovered our landlord did not have any real reason for evicting her and was playing 'hardball' without even telling us. M
I'm 13 - just started using a record player ![]()
I was just wandering if you've got any tips on using it, keeping it in good condition?
Thanks
I found a old 1950s Bakelite Admiral Record player/Radio at a antique shop. It was in very good condition, it turned on the radio worked, but it seems that the needle for the player is blunt (Not much of a surprise). Now i am no record player expert. So i would just like to know what kind of needle this type of player would need to play 78 rpm records. I looked at the needle area, and there were some numbers "8 18 9". I am not sure what they mean, but if anyone knows, or has a little information on this matter i would greatly appreciate any help.
Also just while i am asking about this... I assume this is happening because of the needle. But it seems when i tried out a record the sound seemed like it would play through the speaker then switch to playing through the needle then back to the speaker. If anyone has any idea what that is about i would appreciate help with that too.
I also would put pictures to help, but i cant seem to upload any. I did find a picture on the internet that is a almost exact match to my player. So i hope it will help some. :]
Here is a link to the picture;

I also forgot to mention. The needle seems to be a cartridge needle, with the needle being slightly bent as it reaches its point.
Hi. I have a portable tape recorder. I wanted to know how I can record mp3's from my computer to a tape in my tape recorder? The tape recorder has AUX , Mic, and Headphone inputs. What kind of a cord would I need exactly? (links to show me if possible?) Also, after it's all set up, do I just play the songs through a regular music player like Windows Media Player and press record on my tape recorder?
Lots of questions, I know. Any help would be much appreciated.

Made in Utah by the philadelphia Storage Battery Company.
So I've got this old record player and whenever I try to play a record it vibrates. The actual record player doesn't vibrate, just the turntable that spins the record. Is there anything I can do about this besides get a new one? Anything I can do at home? I'm not sure if this helps but the model is BB - 1168 and it says that it was crafted by BSR.
This would be so helpful, I need to find a vintage one for a film set. Any ideas helpful, and ideas as to where to find a record player would be really appreciated too. Thankyou!!
player.i know that my brother used to save different audio & video clip in his pc.he is abroad.can you guide me how can i do this
