Also, can you view high definition video from a standard DVD, and how much can you fit on a DVD using 1080i ?

i got this great 3-speed record player it can play 33-45-78 rpm and i was wondering where some one could find cheap records
Whenever I press the preview record button, it pops up Windows media player dialog box saying Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file. What sould I do to fix this?

ATCQ-Scenario
Das efx-they want efx
Nas-Hiphop is dead

Communist China is underhandedly trying to destroy the U.S. by devaluing its currency while pegging it to the U.S. dollar. That will bankrupt the U.S.. China has said America should no longer be the number one country in the world, even when they make nearly all of their money from copying U.S. inventions. U.S. invented plasma tv, electronic regular tv, cellphone, DVD and CD's (optical recording),, personal computers, laptop computers, digital audio players(A/D&D/A converters), microwave ovens, digital camera, laser printers, inkjet printers, computer hard drives, electronic video camera, digital video, etc..
In desperate need of a record player, but not so desperate to buy the Crosley record players on sale at stores like Target. Crosely and Ion seem to be the only companies producing record players in retail locations, and both of these record players look and feel cheap. But I don't know what else to do. You've got to play a record on something, and the high end record players are 300-400 bucks.
tape recorder? what do they use now and whats available. do media players record audio? seriously i have no idea. all i know is that i need something that records audio and stores it in a computer friendly format
Not to mention, it could hurt a teams outcome in certain games. Maybe in a tie game, bottom of the 9th, runner on 2nd, but instead of trying to hit a ball into the gap, go for the homer instead? Thats a greed incentive, with less of a team concept in mind. Any thoughts?
I don't think the Yankees have had much issue with unsold tickets. And revenue at the expense of a team, and possible wins? The later into the contract it plays more of a factor is correct though. How fitting, chump change for...
Gene: Do you know how many times I've asked for a raise or how many times I tried to dictate value to my employers? The answer is zero. Ever.
I've accepted raises when they are given. There is a big difference than in that and trying to drive up the value of what one does.
I have a vintage record player downstairs (well my parents do) and I wanted to learn how to scratch and dj and such using it. I know that whatever records I use will get damaged, I'm ok with that
But, will it damage the record player itself by doing this?
Oh ok, so could I temporarily (without extensive knowledge about record players) switch in a non damaging needle? Or would that take a lot of equipment to do?
I think my favorite was asking of they could slip their old 45 RPM vinyl records in the DVD player to listen to them.
I will soon spend two weeks each month on the road. I've made this trip before so I know that some places we have to stop for the night are in the middle of nowhere. No cable, and sometimes only one lousy channel. I would like to watch one or two movies each night before I retire to bed. The movies are home recorded on DVD's. Running with AC current is my only power source interest. I could spend around 0 and don't care what brand it is. Any recommendations?
So I could not wait for the snow to melt, so I tried using my son's radio controlled helicopter in the living room. I soon realized that it was a mistake when I crashed into the mantle and took out Great Grandma Harriets' family heirloom, a German beer stein from like 1908.
Should I blame the oldest one who is never in trouble, but should really have a lesson in unjust parental discipline. ( he is quite overdue).
Or should I blame the youngest one again, who just recently finished "his" punishment for breaking the mother in laws picture hanging in the den. ( hey, who knew Nerf dart guns could pack so much power )
I mean he is used to it anyway. So I'm thinking of strategically placing one of his toy projectiles up on the mantle as evidence. This should leave no doubt about his guilt.
Of course when she is not around, all punishments will be excused, cause I will be good Dad vs. mean Mom.
And really it is her fault anyway. That guy from Antique Roadshow told her how much it was worth. It should never been out in the open.
So, who should it be??
deevious--- why can't I be both?
I have an audio jack that can take a feed from the headphone jack to the microphone jack. If I can't do it this way what software, etc. do I need?
tape deck. I want to record my LP vinyles and I would like to record all that music on my lap top which is also sony viao, and then burn cd's for those reccords. can some one patiently explain how to do that. My lap top has cd burner. My thought is to have a lead go into the head phone socket of the reciever and other end plug in to red color mic socket. and than use the windows media player as recorder, is that possible, i am not tech savy but can apply my mind to it if there is some guidence.
In 1911, the centerfield fence was 403ft and in 1930, 505ft. That's pretty far, even by today's MLB standards.
They both became the "primary" player around the same time. Wade became the franchise as a rookie in 2004. Kobe became the franchise player as an "8 year vet" in 2005 after Shaq's departure. Well lets see how they done.
Dwyane Wade:
In 2004, Wade led The Heat to a 42-40 record and advanced to the 2nd Rd of the playoffs.
In 2005, Wade led The Heat to a 59-23 (1st Seed) record and advanced to the ECF.
In 2006, Wade led The Heat to a 52-30 record and handed The Heat their first NBA Championship. He was Finals MVP, he broke & set records in the NBA Finals, he became the 3rd guy under age 25 to have "multiple" 40 point games in The NBA Finals, he became the 5th NBA player in history to become Sports Illstrated Sportsman of the Year, and he achieved 2006 ESPY's Best NBA Player Honor.
In 2007, Wade suffered a shoulder injury causing him to miss 31 games. The Heat's record was 44-38 and they got put out the 1st Rd of the playoffs.
In 2008, Wade tried coming back but wasn't 100%. He realized it so he end up missing another 31 games. The Heat's record was 15-67.
Kobe Bryant:
In 2005, Kobe led a team with almost the same supporting cast (Odom, Butler, & Grant) that Wade had in 2004 to a 34-48 record and missed the playoffs.
In 2006, Kobe led The Lakers to a 45-37 record and got put out the 1st Rd of the playoffs.
In 2007, Kobe led The Lakers to a 42-40 record and got put out the 1st Rd of the playoffs.
In 2008, The Lakers made a "BIG TRADE". They acquired another "FRANCHISE PLAYER" (Pau Gasol) that once led his team to a 50 win season (in 2004). Gasol was able to lead The Grizzlies to the playoffs in 2005, 2005 is the same season that Kobe failed to lead The Lakers to the playoffs...and to get Gasol the Lakers gave up nothing (Kwame Brown). Anyways, after acquiring another franchise player that did better then Kobe when they were apart, The Lakers end up with a 57-25 record, Kobe was "given" his 1st League MVP after 12 seasons, they reached The NBA Finals but lost badly, & Kobe played a crappy serious.
Wade is "CLEARLY" better at leading a team. His down fall was a "SERIOUS INJURY". Kobe's down fall is that he's a "SHOT JACKER" and isn't really all that good. As the primary player Wade won a championship, Finals MVP, & etc. What has Kobe done as the primary player? "NOTHING"!
Wade > Kobe

These are Ham Radio "QSL cards". The cards are all to Charles Waff Jr., Amateur Radio W3UVA, University, VA. From the very limited info I've found on him, he was a fairly prolific "DX'er" in his time (he's mentioned as a "famous old time DX'er" at http://hamgallery.com/gallery/U/unknown.htm). There are roughly 1200. The cards range from the early 30's to early 40's, most around 1935 to 1937. Cards are from all over the US, and all over the world (many from Russia ((primarily Leningrad)), Germany ((some have Swastika's on them)), Western Australia, Czechoslavakia, Japan, et cetera; there are many more countries); some use postage, others a QSL bureau. Some have odd small blue stamps with triangles in them, or other "non-postage" QSL stamps. Condition is very mixed, ranging from poor to nearly new appearing. Anyway, the question; any value, or just curiosities? A local antique dealer offered me 0 for them; does this sound fair? Any help appreciated, apparently no value guides exist.
To answer the "Have you tried Ebay?" reply, yes, I've tried Ebay, Google, qsl.net, et cetera. Most of the cards on Ebay are considerably newer, 1950's to present, and most of the "collections" are primarily cards from the US and/or modern. The price on the smattering of individual cards from the 1930's seem to depend on the countries sent from; however, I've been unable to find any guide to "rare" countries, senders, et cetera, nor other method of sorting common cards/locations from rarer. Thanks!
I was trying to record a part from Shaun of the Dead off of Windows Media Player using CamStudio, but when it finished, all that appeared was a black video w/ only the sound. How would I be able to record a part of the movie I want?
they're both 0 now and i'm NOT gonna get both for christmas, if one.
xbox details: more ppl have one, it has SOME better games like halo 3, internet is better but you have to pay for it so that's probably not happening, more break downs probably, needs an ethernet cord (i still have another open port on my router so the trouble would be getting it from the first floor through the the ceiling and such to a wall socket and other things which is a hassel).
ps3 details:less ppl have them so even with free, not-as-good internet, it wouldn't be as fun, internet is wireless, has blu-ray*
*my dad has a recently upgraded home theater system with the following: enhanced 7.1 surround sound with those really good 70's Bose speakers, light controlled room, 90" 1080p projector screen with a Sony BRAVIA VPL-HW10 SXRD Projector (one of the top picks of the year by home theater magazine), the most premium everything package from Dish connected with an HDMI cable outputted to a receiver at 1080i that upconverts (specifically by deinterlacing it in this situation) to 1080p and spits it out to the porjector, a laser disc player hooked up with component cables and coaxial digital audio, a VCR player hooked up some how probably at the best that it can be (i haven't looked at that part), internet radio from around the world (yes, with an ethernet cable but that would not be just moved to the 360, we would do another cord) including FM and AM and he also separately hooked up local AM, FM, and (Sirius)XM radio, a record player, and most importantly a not-HD-DVD-or-blu-ray dvd player that somehow can output 1080i through an HDMI cable to be upconverted to 1080p before it reaches the projector but the dvd's we put in are still 480p max so i'm thinking that that's the only not fully upgraded part and one day movies will only come out on blu-ray so he'll have to buy one eventually but if we have a ps3 he MIGHT not buy one or at least for a while so that decreases the cost -- maybe. i want to know what you guys think about the whole thing with that specifically as included with the main question and as a seperate question.
things that don't really play a factor: buying a wireless adapter probably won't happen, true the graphics on the ps3 are better but they're close enough that i don't want to include that in my thinking
extra things: now that i think about it, if i get one then instead of going through the trouble of another 50ft HDMI cord (and no, the length makes almost no difference until like 400ft, u ppl are wrong, don't comment on that) through what would have to be a new wall socket up to the ceiling etc. so it would be in the same place as where we put all my other systems when i play them, we would probably keep it in the same room as the receiver because ALL of the controllers would be wireless and the cords would just be existent in a MUCH better way but if we didn't with the xbox then the new wall socket could include ethernet but even still with bringing it from upstairs... but if the xbox was in the same room as the receiver then maybe the ethernet cord would be simple because it would follow the exact same path as the one to the receiver. if there are any cost differences in terms of accessories, controllers, games etc. that i haven't listed here, wheather they be the same or different, please let me know. any info would be helpful. i'll try to answer any questions but i don't know how often i'll be checking this
p.s. also, maybe i should say that there are two and i want one and here are the details and you can make the decision. what do you think?
p.p.s. you have more than a week to answer. i'll try to remember to keep extending the expiration but keep commenting/answering anyway
I tend fequently borrow friends cars or rent from Hertz and I love to be able to lay my MP3s in the auto cd deck player...also on the portable cd player too...Format must also be able to allow me to erase the song MP3 files I no longer want...Thanks for answering my question.
I don't want to be stuck with the built in speakers, I'd like to be able to add external.
