I recently bought some of my first records from my friend's garage sale and I would use my grandpa's old record player we have but it is broken. I'd like to buy my own, but I need to know some good record players. I'd like a fairly nice one, easily moveable, and not too expensive. Also, what are the different sizes of records that music comes in? Thanks!

I have an antique radio that was made by RCA Victor. The model number is 96T4. Its voltage is 105-125. There is also something about the Utah Radio Product Company on the radio. Can you please tell me some information about this radio, such as the year it was made, how much I might could sell it for, and were I could sell it at?

I've got the RCA plugs in a speaker and the needle is completely fine, but nothing comes through the speaker when the record plays. There's another wire that comes out of the record player that looks like a U or horse shoe that I don't have an input for. Also, there's a knob that can be turned to 17(7), 25(10), 30(12), or manual and I don't know what it does. If one of the aforementioned things is the problem I'd appreciate advice, or if you have a completely different suggestion I'd love to hear all of them. It's a Sony Stereo Turntable Sytem PS-X5 if that helps.

(record players only play "15,33,45,& 78")-I wanna hear songs a touch slower or faster)

does anyone know how to record wii gameplay using magnavox dvd player thats on the same tv.

Lyricism?
Production?
Turntablism?

Which of the three aspects do you think has advanced the farthest since the beginning of hip hop?

My Sister has an upright console that has two parts stacked on one another. It has a TV - Radio and Record player with great speakers in the bottom half. I have looked everywhere on the web and have found pictures of the cabinet style consoles but not the upright ones. I am trying to find pics of these types so we can identify the year and model number.
Thanks in advance for your help

y should the phonograph be inducted in the hall of fame?
y is it so important?

I just bought a Tube-powered radio and it looks really great, classic and Majestic. But when I turn it on, it just makes a loud buzz and sometimes doesn't make a sound nor can i tune it to any Radio Station. What should I do to get it to work?

Is there a recorder that I can use a cassette or CD accompaniment tape with and sing along with it and record it onto a CD? I once had a 'boombox' that had a microphone (external) and I could put a tape in one side, sing along with it and it recorded onto a tape that was in the other cassette holder. It even had a microphone input and I could use a microphone and sing along and that blocked out the external noise. I've searched everywhere for a player/recorder like that but have not found any. My old one 'bit the dust'. Now, I'd like to record songs I sing at church, onto a CD, at home, using an accompaniment CD. Any suggestion would be appreciated. I purchase the accompaniment CD's and sing with them now, at church, but have no way of recording them at home to keep and/or share with family or friends who've asked me for one. Thanks. yanksgirl
Your answer is helpful--please explain: on my PC I can record voice and music? how do I do that? I use a mic and put the accompaniment tape where? I'm confused. Please give details. Thanks.

I've searched for the methods to solve these problems but can not find anything. I have no idea how to solve any of these problems, if anyone can explain how to solve the problems below your help will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks so much in advance :D

1) Estimate the length of the spiral carrying pits and lands on an ordinary CD of diameter 12 cm. Assume the adjacent parts of the spiral are 1600 nm apart. Explain your method, listing the assumptions you have made.

2) It takes 4.0 minutes to record a song on a CD at a rate of 44 100 words per second. A word has a length of 32 bits. How many bytes does the song take?

3) Calculate the storage capacity of an 80-minute CD that was recorded at a rate of 44 100 bits per second using two channels of 16-bit words each.

4)a) Explain how digital data is stored on a CD
b) Explain how interference of light can be used to distinguish a pit from a land
c) A CD player uses a laser of wavelength 680 nm. What is an appropriate wavelength?

This is a bit embarrassing, please bear with me because I know nothing about this stuff. I want to buy an old vintage record player and a bunch of records, but I'm looking on ebay and it states whether the records are 33 or 45 or 78 RPM. I have no idea what this means, and how do I know which are compatible with a record player? Are they all compatible? Is one of the RPM better than another? Please help me out, thanks!!

ok my room is quite small. i have a door facing north and to the left of the door is the closet. east side of the window is a window that is always open. i also have a ceiling. i have a small bed and its headboard is in the middle of the south wall. i have a bunch of my grandma antiques collectibles. and on this old record player thing that is on the west wall is my tv and directtv box and my x box and its games. then i have a mirror that is facing the left (west) side of my bed and a mirror is on the side of the closet. and it is facing the west wall. uhhh... next to the record playing thing on the west wall is like i tiny little thing with shelves and it has a bunch of antique crap. then between window and closet is a sewing table with more antique crap. so yeah... anyway i can make the room more feng shui....????

I just purchased a vintage Crosley record player that is built into a cabinet and has a radio next to it. I am guessing it is from the 40's or so, it only plays glass records.
I am wondering 2 things:
1. Where can I get information on this record player
2. I can't play any of my vinyl records without it sounding like the chipmunks. The record player has only one speed but I have a few RPM adjusters that are circular shaped... but have NO idea how these work... anything will help!
