I was wondering what the difference is between a record player and a turntable.
Can you play records on both? You see on urbanoutfitters i was debating on whether to buy this Crosley AV Room Portable USB Turntable. because i recently was interested in old 80's music and i thought it would be neat to play them on vinyl.
Does this product play records or is it just to be like a DJ.. and what is the USB for(sorry not so good with technology) so if any one could please help me out and explain this to where i could understand that would be great! thanks in advance

I have a NUMARK DXM06 dj mixer and it has 2 1/4" jacks for master volume as well as regular RCA cables. Can i plug powered speakers straight into the 1/4" jacks on the mixer without needing an amp???

I would like to play alot of my old records again, I heard the sound of vinal again and now I want it. What is my best route. Do they still sell them new? Should I buy used? What brand? I dont want to spend alot but I would like to put together a system with a CD player also, something I can add to but for now just a record player. Thanks

Analog record player, old records not available on CD, period. Never were. What's the cheap and dirty way to do it, short of putting the stereo in front of the computer, and what would be the best way to do it for best audio possible.

There is no place on the amp for magnetic cartridge output to the tape machine, so i can record an old record on a cassette tape. Record player has only one set of output contacts, and these go to the amp... i believe this is a possible act, but i am unable to make the connections. can you help me ?

Hi! I own an old record player..... I think its vintage since the person that gave it to me said it was from the 1980´s or 1970´s.
Its a Dynatron player, the model says something like "Garras" but I cant really make out the letters. It has a British royal seal on it ....."by appointment to H.M. the Queen......"

If you play a 33rpm record in a 78 rpm record player what will happen? Will it play it too slowly/quickly? will it play at all?

I need to record sound separately for a video, because the video camera that I have doesn't have an external mic support, and my voice recorder records at 32kbps WMA. I need something of a higher quality, but would prefer not to carry around a laptop. I have an external boom mic, and just need a means to record it. Are there any cheap CD players that can record directly onto a CD or other devices that can record high-quality sound?

My wife has a small toy bear that has a motor inside. It plays music and the head rotates with the music. It's like a stuffed animal, but with an internal motor. It's about 30 yrs old. The music box isn't working anymore. Where would I take it to get it fixed?

These speakers have the red and black cables coming out of the back of them that go into those holes on stereo systems. How do I hook them up to my record player?

Sorry it is a turntable and the wires on the speakers that I am talking about are not phono wires they are the ones that you have to strip the rubber off of to get the the metal wire on the inside.

This is probably a long shot, but I'm having trouble operating my record player. It's brand new, so the fault lies with me, I'm sure. There are three switch settings, off, on, and auto. It also has a swing arm that sits above the needle arm or hovers over the label depending on where I put it.

One, what is the swing arm for? Sometimes the needle won't move to the record and sometimes it does, depending on where I put the swing arm, but the swing arm never moves on its own.

Two, when I set the switch to auto, it doesn't stay, and sometimes clicks back through on to off.

I basically can't figure out what combination of positioning of the swing arm and switch the record player wants me to use. I and up trying different combination until it works, but there isn't a pattern that I can see.

What does the darn thing want me to do?

I have a Truetone radio tuner w/ turn table it's a D1752. It was put out by Western Auto Supply Co. around 1947. I've looked on the internet, but can't find any for sale all I find are how to order parts. Thanks for your help.

I have a record player that is a big black box thing, but it doesn't work very well. I also know that bad quality record players can destroy records. So I'm looking for a good quality record player without an entire stereo system. The records I have are mostly 33 rpm's.

I have a very old record player, but when hooked up to my system, I have to have it on maximum volume just in order to hear it. It has a standard R and L speaker output. Is there a way to amplify the sound so I can really experience my record collection?? PLEASE HELP!!
