1st it was VHS over Beta, vinyl b4.. cassettes over 8 track..then CD's cames out…DVD's etc…..?
and it seems that each technology is actually WORSE!!!
examples:
I have 250 CD's. 200 plus have scratches and dont play right..you have to get up and do something about it.
I have 1,000 Vinyl 45 records dating from the 20's to 2007. about 2 of them are not playable. maybe 10 have scratches but continue to play without you getting up and doin something.
ALL OF MY CASSETTES WORK. ALL. A friend of mine brought her 8 tracks and player over...all worked fine.
And at the end of the cassette era they had just put out some players where you could seek, find and go to whatever song you wanted on either side of the cassette in almost the same time that a CD could....sigh..
DVD's?? HAHAHAHAHAH....most players have proeblems..and the disks are easily scratched.
Beta was awesome then VHS came out....never had a problem with any VHS player OR tape...
My records sound better to me and my freinds than CD's......
I do admit the picture quality of a DVD is better....
My question is:
Are we getting screwed?
ok the IPOD does rock...lol...love that lil thing...thanks Tab..
I’ll be honest with you, I’ve never put any thought into it. But you’re right, we are getting screwed!
What I like about DVD’s is the way that we can jump to a scene quickly and I typically go over the special features, especially if it’s a horror film. CD’s are the same way in that you can jump from one song to the next effortlessly.
The next thing is Blue Ray - I think that’s what it’s called. I haven’t had any experience with that. Maybe it’ll be better? Have you had any experience with it?
i think its all a set up and we were born screwed before we even had the chance to fix it
Nah - cause the next thing will be a tiny version of a clip that will be encased and therfore unscratchable. And consider iPods where you don’t even really use a device for each separate song!
okay so records may sound better than cds. correct. cds are smaller than records. cds hold more data than records. dvds hold more data than cds. its getting better… they just need to make a scratch proof cd.
I remember reading an article in a computer magazine about how Blu-ray players will come with a chip built in which is supposed to fry itself if you play a pirated disk, therefore rendering your player permanently useless.
I won’t be going down the blu-ray road for this reason alone. Can we really trust the technology not to make a mistake, even once?
So yes, in some ways we are getting screwed.
why dont you just get that new microsoft music chip implant? everyones doin it!
